Why We Do It
Community Options empowers people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live the most meaningful, independent, and full lives they can live. When a group of parents five decades ago refused to institutionalize their loved ones, they initiated educational programs from the basement of a church that created a movement to reach these goals. Thanks in great part to their efforts, Community Options has, since 1972, carried on the vision and passion of those concerned parents.
